  GREEN DOT IS A SCAM. DO NOT BUY!
  I purchased the card. I got on the internet to activate it. I filled out the complete form (correctly) and immediately I was taken to a REFUND screen! I called the number listed on the card. I got their automated answering service, which gave me another number to call for Customer Service... again, it's all automated. I located the web address which has a live chat line. Live chat told me to call 1-800-greencard and press option 6... Finally, a live person! The first guy claimed he could not hear me, so I had to call back. When I did, there was no explanation as to why I was getting a refund. I believe for what ever reasons, the company is collecting social security numbers and purposely rejecting people. BEWARE! A scam is born everyday. I now have to wait two weeks to receive a check in the mail. I would have done better getting a money order. At least my phone bill would be paid on time. What a waste of time! One more thing, there is a $5.95 monthly charge added, unless you keep your account at $1,000 a month! My advice, RUN the other way!!!
